The school year is wrapping up and coming to an end; however, there are still so many more important activities and dates to keep up with! See this newsletter to know the upcoming events for Chuckey-Doak this month!
We are so sad to see our seniors leave, but we wish them the best of luck in their future. Through the last 4 years, we want to thank all seniors for their hard work and dedication to helping make this school have the best of the best students! We will forever be rooting for each, and every individual and we want you to always remember once a Black Kight, always a Black Knight!
We also hope our underclassmen have a wonderful and safe summer! We cannot wait for the next school year with new students!
Come out for our first annual festival on May 2nd

EOC testing & Finals
EOC testing and finals are important tests students have to take. We encourage our students to get a good night’s rest and eat a good breakfast before their testing. Students should check with their teachers about attendance to know if they have to take finals or not. Attached here below are the May testing dates:

March is an exciting month because it marks the official start of spring, bringing warmer weather and longer days. This change in season is perfect for spring sports to begin, such as baseball, softball, tennis, boys’ soccer, and track & field. Athletes get back on the fields and tracks, enjoying the fresh air and new energy that comes with spring. It’s also a busy time academically, as many students prepare for an important test like the ACT & ASVAB that is happening later on in March.
Let’s Break this crazy, busy month down in weeks
Spring Sports Picture Day Schedule:
Students need to leave class 15 minutes before their scheduled picture. For more information, please see Ms. P or Khloe Henderson!
The ACT is right around the corner!
Juniors will be taking their Spring ACT on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026. Students taking the ACT are allowed to leave after they are finished with their ACT, given that they have a SIGNED NOTE from a parent or guardian. Students ARE NOT allowed to leave with other students when leaving campus early. Students should arrive no later than 7:45am the day of, to get themselves situated and in the correct classroom for their test. Admin will inform them of where to go in days prior to their test.
Sophomores
Our sophomores will be taking the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on Tuesday, March 31st (same day as Junior ACT). This test is a standardized test used to determine eligibility for enlistment in the U.S. military and to help match recruits with suitable military jobs. For students not going into the military, this test shows students what careers they would excel in. All Sophomores are required to take this test, even students not planning to go into the military.
Welcome back! I’m excited to kick off another year as your newsletter editor—my second year writing and my last as a senior.
As we return from summer break, there’s already a lot happening around campus. Fall sports are back in full swing. Cross Country is hitting the trails, Girls Soccer is ready for a strong season, and Volleyball is gearing up for action. Cheerleading will be on the field supporting our Football team, who’s ready to bring the energy under the lights. And after a standout season last year, Golf is back and looking to go even further.
Here’s to a great start and an even better year. Let’s make it count.
I Hope You Have A Fantastic August!

At Chuckey-Doak High School, we believe that consistent attendance is one of the most effective ways parents can support their child’s success in school. Every day in class is an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect, and when students miss too many days—whether excused or unexcused—they miss valuable learning experiences. At Chuckey-Doak High School, we work closely with families to address attendance concerns early. Students with three unexcused absences enter Tier 1 support, five to nine unexcused absences move to Tier 2, and ten or more unexcused absences enter Tier 3. Chronic absenteeism—missing 10% or more of the school year, for any reason—also triggers extra support. To help keep records accurate, please remember that doctor’s notes must be submitted on the day your child returns to school.

Athletics
Fall Sports are here! Our student-athletes have been working hard all summer in the sun, preparing for an exciting year of competition. This fall, we are proud to showcase our football, golf, cross-country, girls’ soccer, and volleyball teams. Our cheerleading squad has also been putting in the work—perfecting their cheers, stunts, and spirit to energize the crowd and support our teams. We would love to see the Black Knight Nation packing the stands at all of our home games, showing great support for our athletes. Students are reminded to display the highest level of sportsmanship and school pride at every event—cheering loudly for our Black Knights, respecting all participants, and representing CDHS with excellence. See you at a game! Go Black Knights!
